5.0 out of 5 stars The World at War, 23 Feb 2007
From the moment the first strings are bowed from Carl Davis' musical score you know

you are about to witness something momentus. This 1974 series is a hugely visually informative account of WW2. There is little room for speculative interpretation - what you see is as close as you will get to the real events. Film footage ranging from the happy scenes of 1940's Christmas festivities to the deeply disturbing extermination camp body pits, this documentary pulls no punches. Yet it simply asks only to be watched in solemnity and remembrance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Peter Sellers, 20 Dec 2005
`Heavens Above' is the Boultings Brother's attempt at satirizing the religious establishment. Sellers is cast as a well-meaning parson whose attempts at absolute Christian interpretation don't go down very well in a cosy English village.
Beautifully underplayed by Sellers, with plenty of humour and pathos.
Then And Now (1964-2004) ~ The Who
4.0 out of 5 stars Townshend returns, 3 Feb 2005
This album is (hopefully) the beginning of the return of Pete Townshend. Since being musically in the wilderness from 1978 to 2001 he returns with 2 new songs that have Townshend bite - lacking in all his work since 1978.

There is a good choice of old Who stuff with the addition of 2 new tracks at the end, which may feature on the new upcoming Who2 album.

Townshend is never better than when he confronts life as it was as a teenager. His recollection of Elvis in 'Real Good Lookin' Boy' is classic Townshend .....full of downers, yet some hope at the end. Daltery is, as always, the perfect voice for Townshends biting lyrics.

A nice collection for those people… Read more
