I purchased this book on a reccomendation from a Sunday newspaper not always the most reliable of sources,but anyway it turned up trumps with this one!This is not my usual type of book that I would pick up but I have found it to be the best book I,ve read this year a tragi/comedy/social history in one colorful volume.I had vaguely heard of Grimaldi beforehand but had little interest in theatre literature finding them usually tedious and very long-winded trash,but this volume has swayed me as Joe was a real trouper and survived through a vilolent childhood to become the biggest draw in Georgian England.This story deserves to be read by more people instead of trashy biogs about Z listers… Read more
