A cracking good read, you really feel like you are sitting down with Jennifer listening to her chat about her life. A really easy read and full of fascinating anecdotes. I was truly sorry when I came to the end of the book. Don't hesitate, buy it!

This book is really badly written and so full of cliches that it makes you wince. The language is unrealistic and parts of it are quite unintelligible and to cap it all there isn't really much story. This was my first Martin Amis book and, although in the long term it wouldn't put me off reading other books by him, I was disappointed to say the least in this one and quite glad when the ordeal of reading it was finally over.

I don't usually write book reviews, but I felt that I had to review this book because it was so awful and to warn potential readers that although it is a Martin Amis book, that doesn't automatically mean it's any good.

An easy to read, really heartwarming story which any pet owner will relate to. Bob is adorable and he and James are really lucky to have each other. I hope someone makes this fantastic book into a film. Buy it - you won't regret it and in doing so you'll be helping James and Bob live a better life.
