4.0 out of 5 stars Forgotten war, 3 Oct 2012

It doesn't help understand because I don't think this would be possible.I have been in Bosnia and tried really hard to comprehend what madness made people do what they did. How can neighbor turn against neighbor after decades of harmony. Or maybe it wasn't so happy and harmonious as everybody thought. This book is in fact a memorial to Bosnian Muslims murdered, tortured and raped in the war as they can't build proper memorial in the places where these unspeakable crimes happened to them. 5.0 out of 5 stars Oh the Paladins., 30 Jan 2012
I do love Paladins. Alexis did create incredible characters. And now I do love the others as well:). It's the love story of a forbidden love between an other and human and it's very well written. Both male and female character
are very likeable. I was sorry to hear that Alexis is planning to take a break from Paladin stories( there is only one more book after this) and I hope she will write another great book pretty soon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, 30 Jan 2012
I have to agree with all reviewers here. This book is truly amazing. I truly admire war journalists. I believe their work is incredibly important. And Charlotte is journalist herself and she did cover war in Bosnia. Her description of the siege is unbelievable. it is very accurate. the tragic love story on the background is very well written and you can't help to feel Amir's pain & Molly's loss( you can't fell in love like this twice. Highly recommended
