5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read, 28 Jun 2010
I read other books by Stephen Baxter and loved them. So when I heard about his new book I was hooked. It won't be available from Amazon.com or .ca until spring 2011. So, I spent a bit more and orderd it from Amazon.uk. It arrived quickly (less than a week) and I read the book even faster (2 days). I won't do an in-depth analysis of the book, I'll leave that to others. A couple of the main characters could have been better developped but that is my opinion. The most important thing is I found it a great read and would recommend it to others. This is the first book in a trilogy so I can hardly wait for books 2 and 3.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst, 8 Jan 2007
This is probably the worst period piece I have seen. The acting is stiff and predictable. The music is bad and I mean bad. Don't waste your money. It is embarrassing to watch it is so bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shocking, 2 Feb 2006
Living in Canada, I had never seen this movie. The closest thing to it was the 1987 TV movie The Day After with Jason Robards wich caused an uproar. After having seen Threads, I realised that it did not compare to it. Threads is shocking in it's realism and in your face images. It is pertinent even today. It is scary just to watch it. It is scary in the sense that is could happen then and it can happen today. This movie should be shown in schools to awaken people to existing possibilities. I recommend this movie to everybody. Makes you think twice about nuclear power. More than twice.
