Prehistoric Pottery in Britain & Ireland. by Paul Gibson

I chose to buy this book as I read a lot about prehistoric britain, and was getting confused as to the pottery deposits which were being found on various digs.
This book can be quite technical, however as a lay person I understood it easily, and I hope that if I found some ancient pottery I may be able to identify it!!
I recommend this book as it talks about not only the pottery but the firing skills and how the clay was mixed in different areas.
Essential reading for the ameteur archaeologist.
Beads: A Book of Ideas and Instructions (Klutz) by Laura Torres

I bought this book along with one on making rings - this one however has been the best of the two. I have been making Jewellery sets for my friends who thought I had bought them!!
The instruction are simple and easy to follow and with a little practice you can make many different kinds of projects.
This book can be used as a starting point for adults and children in designing and making bead jewellery - but beware - since we recieved the book that's all my and I have done!!!
