Yamaha C40 Full Size Classical Guitar - Natural by Yamaha
5.0 out of 5 stars What a bargain, 27 Jun 2014
I have owned acoustic guitars for many years including some top range steel stringed stuff. After my last mid- range solid top Spanish guitar was broken I just needed something to fill in for a while. I didn't expect too much, but the reviews were very positive and the Youtube reviews very promising (especially the ones where the guitar was tuned properly!). I got the Amazon Warehouse deal, almost 27% cheaper than full price. I have just received the guitar and tuned it up. I am really impressed - it looks great - not the sickly yellow colour of some very cheap guitars. This is important to me - I don't want cheap looking stuff around the house. It is also unmarked, perfect in every way! It… Read more
Hama 6952 Flash Adapter Contact Cable by Hama
I have a 1950's folding camera with a female pc flash socket (tiny hole in the centre) next to the lens. The camera has only an all-metal "cold shoe" to mount a flashgun. I have a cheap 1980's flashgun which has a "hot shoe" on the bottom but no pc connection. They don't work together without some sort of adapter.
This Hama item plugs into the pc socket on the camera, the flashgun slots into the top, and hey presto- it's ready for work. The unit can be mounted on the camera's "cold shoe" or mounted on an external bracket if you have one. The cable is about 22cm long.
The unit works perfectly and appears well made of aluminium and good plastic… Read more
Ilford XP2 400, 35mm 24 exposures 3 rolls by Ilford

I expose at ei 200 - this improves results enormously - less grain, more detail in the shadows and reduced contrast, which can be excessive at iso400. I had a couple of rolls developed professionally using the C41 process, results were good. Then I discovered Rodinal/R09 stand development - 1:100 and leave for an hour. This was cheap and easy and gives better results than C41. The negatives are very fine grained, quite contrasty and physically very flat, which makes them very easy indeed to scan. I "scan" using a full frame dslr and then convert to positive using software. The results are really good. The tones aren't quite as good as Tri-X, but I like the look.
I give only 4… Read more
