The Official GameSalad Guide to Game Development (&hellip by GameSalad

If you want to know about different genres of games, devices, and the history of gaming then this is probably a decent book, but if you want it to learn how to develop a game in GameSalad I wouldn't bother! The book partly takes you through making one game, but the tutorials for this are spread randomly throughout the book (in no sensible order) and from what I can tell seems incomplete. The game itself is very basic and has very few features in it, so when it comes to working on your own game you're probably going to have to look elsewhere for a lot of the information.

For an "official guide" it's pretty disappointing!

I bought this when it was released at the end of 2009 or the beginning of 2010 and have played it no more than 2 or 3 times.

The pre-released trailer did not match the version released which was my first grip with the game. The trailer showed screens from the PC version. Another problem is that you'll be lucky to find a player on your team that can throw or catch a ball, or even run without tripping over their laces which is annoying as the computer player very rarely misses or makes mistakes.

The biggest problem with the game though is that the developers don't seem at all interested in the XBox version by showing no sign of fixing it and no replies to the complaints… Read more
