I bought two of these heaters. Within three weeks one of them had developed a fault which meant the fan no longer worked.

I bought this book on the back on the 4 star rating. Unfortunately it turns out the 2 and 3 star reviews were spot on.

Lisa's mother may love the two page anecdote about the time she and Stephen Hawking received the keys to the city of Padua, but as an introduction to a discussion of Galileo it just doesn't work.

The theme of the book is fascinating, it's just a shame the writing doesn't do it justice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stick with it, 13 May 2011
The book divides into two sections: the first 13 chapters wade through WireShark's gui interface, which as other reviewers have noted isn't exactly riveting. But then the rest of the book moves on to protocol analysis. What saves the book, and rewards careful study, are the trace files that accompany it and are used as teaching materials at the end of each chapter. Yes it is way over-priced, and yes it is a bit dull, but there isn't anything else that covers the same ground so thoroughly. Worth buying if you've got the time and patience to work slowly and methodically through it.
