The Bower Bird (Gussie) by Ann Kelley
The Bower Bird (Gussie) by Ann Kelley
Gussie the main character is very loveable and has lots of friends because of her warm personality. The reader forgets how ill she is as her attitude to life is so positive. I just felt the book was more suited to teenage readers.
The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty
The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty
This novel presents the reader with an ethical dilemma. The main character is a perfect wife in a perfect world until she discovers her husbands secret. Initially she is not a character I 'warmed' to, but towards the end I really felt for her and understood her strong family values.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very long winded!, 18 Mar 2014
The story was okay, and the ending quite a surprise, but the novel was very long winded with constant descriptions of what the characters do everyday, what they ate, when they slept... I felt much of this was unnecessary. I am not interested in reading the follow up.
