In My Own Words:
I'm a writer, of both fiction and non-fiction. I'm English but now live in the USA with my American husband and our very lively dog. I write a weekly Mystery Movies article for the BellaOnline website.

When I'm not writing I love to read, listen to Baroque music, watch new and classic movies, swim, and go for walks with my four-legged friend.

The Crystal Set - A Mystery by Myles Bevis
The Crystal Set is a nice little mystery. I must admit that the early part of the story, in which the author describes the workings of crystal radio sets was completely lost on me, being not of a technical bent - and that if I had been browsing a full length novel this introductory section might have put me off reading it. But this was a short story so I read on and was rewarded with an intriguing story, with just the right hint of spookiness.

Wait For Me (Against All Odds) by Elisabeth Naughton
Wait For Me (Against All Odds) by Elisabeth Naughton
I got Wait for Me as a free download and the plot sounded really intriguing - amnesiac woman sets out to find the truth about her former life - but once I got into the book it was clear that the writing was not going to do justice to a potentially good mystery.

The hero was the worst kind of arrogant - he blames the wife who has lost her memory for all the pain he's suffered, but still repeatedly pins her against the wall when he gets the hots for her. And of course the silly woman can't resist him. These scenes of sexual tension were so repetitive it was like reading the same page over and over again. The heroine must have lost her marbles along with her memory, since she seems… Read more
Aspen Allegations - A Sutton Mass. Mystery by Lisa Shea

Aspen Allegations is a thoroughly enjoyable mystery. After Sutton Mass. resident Morgan Warren finds a body during a woodland walk, she is drawn into solving a puzzle that reaches back to the 1968 death of eighteen year old Eileen, a local beauty. Four young men who, along with Eileen, were about to graduate high school were present when a boating accident claimed her life. More than forty years later one of those men lay dead from a gunshot in Sutton Forest. Who knows what really happened on that long ago night? Morgan and Jason, a forest ranger, set out to find the truth.

I was interested to learn that this novel was written in 'real time'. That is to say that the locations… Read more
