A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy 1) by Deborah Harkness
This was a very interesting read, not just another story of vampires and witches, but it had more depth to the relationship of the characters and a wealth of historical knowledge regarding alchemists like Elias Ashmole. It weaved together a lot of history, legends and topical subject matter, to create a very intersting and satisfying read. The determination of both Mathew and Diane's characters to defy the laws of creatures such as vampires and witches, and the lengths that they will go to, like time travel spurs you onto Deborah Harknes' next novel.
Learning Ritual: An Easy Process by Andrew Skidmore

This isn't a great book, as the last review states, it's small and a bit thin on the ground. It doesn't say anything new about learning ritual, and you could easily find similar help and advice on the internet. I was hoping for a lot more with this book, but it doesn't deliver.
