My Story as an American Au Pair in the Loire Valle&hellip by Linda Kovic-Skow
5.0 out of 5 stars A well told story, 5 April 2014
This book transports the reader back to a former France,1979 to be exact, but one character is straight out of a Grimm's fairy tale. It's a true story of life as an au pair, but It has a happy ending. It's well told, well written , and with sufficient french to balance the fact the writer is trying to learn French as a language. it helped my french too. It's set in the beautiful Loire valley, well known to me, and it is thoroughly authentic.
From a Venetian Courtyard *** TOP THREE BOOK *** by Patricia Nolan

This is a book of short stories, some linked, but all use a Venetian courtyard as a base. Each story is wonderfully written with lyrical sentences and appealing characters. Some stories are very poignant. I love Venice and I fully appreciated each pen picture, but the heart of each story lies in the people illustrated.
A Humble Companion by Laurie Graham
A Humble Companion by Laurie Graham
5.0 out of 5 stars an entertaining read, 27 Feb 2014
I have loved Laurie Graham ever since her excellent 'Future Housewives of America 'so I was pleased to try this story. It did not disappoint and is full of wit and terrific one liners. The story wonderfully opened up life in Georgian times and proved a real page turner.
