What remains to be said about one of the forefathers of Heavy Metal? Sabbath - of course - started the whole thing off but Priest took the sound (and the look) further and defined power metal, particuarly in the 80s.. This album starts with a riff heavier than a planet as "Dragonaut" is exactly what Priest are about - bludgeoning guitars, thundering bass, screaming vocals & preposterous lyrics but I defy you to keep your head still. The rest of the album follows in similar vein - "March of the Damned" & "Down in Flames" are two particular highlights - although there are one or two tracks that have me reaching for the skip button; I wanted to give this 3.5 stars… Read more

Another tour-de-force from this under-rated band. Perhaps not as brutal as "Dead Heart" but still astonishing in its range & power. File alongside Iced Earth & Arch Enemy

Astonishing & searing. Nevermore have been one of my favourite bands for a while now & they hit form here. The relentless riffing is terrific and Jeff Loomis (lead guitar) comes up with some twisted stuff. Highly recommended - file alongside Iced Earth.
