This Night's Foul Work (Commissaire Adamsberg) by Fred Vargas
5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful read, 7 Mar 2014
Fred Vargas is a breath of fresh air in the crime world. The translation is very crisp which makes the story roll along. Decided to read some more by Mme Vargas and have not been disappointed. Would say that Pierre Magnan has a successor, the humour in each is just off centre enough to be very enjoyable
Inspector Montalbano: Series One (5 Disc DVD) DVD ~ Luca Zingaretti
5.0 out of 5 stars Montalbano Sono, 8 Nov 2013
What a way to spend Saturday nights, sun sea and Luca Zingaretti swimming towards shore.
In the event of a TV series ending it seems only right to have some DVDs to restore the sea and sun equilibrium.
Can't think of a better series to relax with. It is witty and the characters establish themselves as time goes on as they ought. The Young Montalbano is well worth looking at because the scene is set for the older self.

5.0 out of 5 stars Arne Dahl, 8 Nov 2013
This is compulsive viewing and having seen the series on TV we wanted to own the set. We are very happy to have the discs now.

There are some very dark topics here and there is violence which may not suit everyone, easier to fast-forward when on disc.

Nordic thrillers are very popular and this lives up to those series recently broadcast by BBC 4.

Looking forward to the next instalment of Arne Dahl
