Anniversary of what is that meant to be underneath my birthday? There are so many...first bought record, dog/cat dying, first 'profane experience involving sexual organs' (had to delete naughty 'f' word as profanity not allowed on here, oh dear me! And which century are we in...) first date with current partner, splitting up with someone, buying a house, planting a special tree, first seeing 'Bo… Read more

I adored 'Queen of Denmark' and waited (and waited) longingly for this one. I have to admit that more of the same would have been fine: I'd have consumed delightedly. I'm a big fan of Kraftwerk, Goldfrapp and all things electronica so when info-leaks began dripping tales of Hercules and Love Affair type sounds I began to froth at the ears. 5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning!, 17 Jun 2012
This is worth it for the Live Choral Version alone! It's much better than the studio/album version and a great reminder of the early Seventh Tree gigs with strings and choir. Is there any video footage of any of those concerts out there anywhere? The Royal Festival Hall gig was one of the best I've ever been to, they were simply stunning. That album is a great grower and I love it more every time I hear it - pity about the pretty dire follow-up though.

I've been waiting for something like this for many years. Beth Gibbons hinted at it with 'Tom the Model' but then left the baby out in the cold on its own. This is sassy, sexy and very classy. And, better still, very few of my friends knew where it had come from and I love that element of surprise and difference. It was one of my very best buys of last year. You can't be disappointed!
