This is one of the best albums in the forefront of brit-progressive ska core. the vocals from chas give a new meaning to the genre. the first track, tread lightly speak dearly, sets the tone for the album, fast uptempo, coo. 24/4 a very emotional song, shows that this band have feelings. The chords strike deep into the heart with a lifting of brass to raise spirits. Blindside such a classic, need we say more. the funky drum intro to bomb ibiza is just a glimpse of the talent that these guys had, unfortuanlty they have now broken up so the good tunes must be bought Basically buying this album will make your life better as ska is whoopwhoop ska ska ska.

The Need to Change the Mapmaker is a very different album. Dubbed "emocore" which seems to be a popular genre at the moment. However Jairus are not "emocore", just because they reflect that image in their clothes etc they are not. This band is very different and refreshing to listen to. It's not just a beatdown of guitar chords and drums but creates an interesting web of music that enthrals you and compels you to listen to them. All you need to do is to listen to And Caligula Blushed to be convinced. It is a very powerful song. The guitarists are very talented and play around the sound to make something different.
