I have just finished reading "Just the job lad" I can say it was one of the "best" books I have read in my life. I am from the East Coast of Scotland, and grew up in a rural community. Mike Pannett is simply the best modern day writer of non-fiction ( true accounts )I have had the pleasure to come accross. At last I have found such wonderful books, that meet the mark. They make me cry, laugh, stop and think, laugh out loud, get excited....and so much more. Both my husband and I ( and daughter ) have read Mike Pannetts 3rd book. We all enjoyed more than the first 2 books. What I enjoyed were the "crime stories" they kept me in suspense (the sunset gang) right thro till the conclusion. In away as it is true stuff, I got more involved with Mike than I have done in the past with Lee Child and the like. The other most pleasing thing was the great humour on most pages. When I read about the "naked character" in the woods I was in tears, I laughed that much. I can't recomend this book ( series ) highly enough. Ab fantastic reading.
