4.0 out of 5 stars A brutal War, 22 July 2013
The book really brings home what it must have been like during WW2 for the average soldier fighting the Russians on the Eastern Front. The daily brutality from both sides in an effort to outwit eachother, the stress, lack of sleep and poor diet took it's toll. It made me wonder how much equipment and bodies were buried in unmarked graves from Russia all the way into europe. I certainly would have liked to know how this sniper coped after the war with all the mental scars left from those battles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Memories of the past, 16 April 2013
I remember the first Viscount disaster very well so I have been wanting to read this book for quite sometime. This book brings back all those memories from a very special place called Rhodesia. I am amazed how quickly things have been forgotten so I intend to make sure my old Rhodie mates read this fine book just to remind them how hard we fought for something we all really valued and believed in, Keith Neill has really written a very honest account of his time in the SAS and his involvement in training those x gooks, it's a real pity we did not know the fate of Martin and his merry men.

This is a must have for any wine lover. Well written with the appropriate details regarding natural winemaking and all of the passion and patience it takes.
