Crescent Moon by Delilah Devlin
Crescent Moon by Delilah Devlin
This is poorly written, riddled with spelling mistakes & clumsy, repetitive metaphor. I wish the author had invested in a decent editor. Or even a proof reader with a reading age above 11. There is a bare modicum of research into ancient Egyptian myth, which is clearly courtesy of Google. The author hammers home her point about the resurrected virginal warrioress of the gods, with enough magical powers & righteous vim to make any Mary Sue jealous.... & turns this apparently strong, capable, spiritual woman into a lip-biting, submissive nymphomaniac. The sex scenes are repetitive, unimaginative & juvenile. The inevitable conclusion of the story being she has to get rescued by the male… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing & powerful, 26 Oct 2013
Firstly, don't let the 'rock opera' tag put you off. While this album won't be everyone's cup of tea, it's certainly my double rum; a dark opus of love & loss, spiced liberally with triumph over adversity. Let's talk about Sofie' s voice. It's truly remarkable that such a powerful voice, with such range, comes out of the slender Ms Jude. Her voice soars, purrs & resonates. My favourite tracks are "Wish A Little Harder", "Empty Promises" & "Sheer Rage". Entirely self-written & independently produced, the album is a triumph. I look forward to her live performances & future work! Bravo, Sofie Jude!

5.0 out of 5 stars Epic!, 19 Dec 2012
I really enjoyed this. It started out as a crime drama, took a crazy left into the supernatural & caterers onwards from there. The characterisation is very well done, as are the concepts of magic, the Sight & 'remembering'. There's a few twists in the tale & I was kept well & truly hooked till the end, where things are set up neatly for a sequel.
