Alpines, from Mountain to Garden (Royal Botanic Ga&hellip by Richard Wilford
4.0 out of 5 stars Hunters, 1 April 2014
The books focus is more on plant hunters from the past than I would have guessed from the description and reviews. The book tends towards the coffee table type. It does, sometimes, lose focus in that the plants looked at can be what the particular plant hunter found rather than an alpine (though usually from high altitude), many being suited to herbaceous borders . It does have much interesting information, however, and some chapters are tighter than others such as 'Europe'. It is a handsome and generally well written book.

National Gallery of Art 2014 Desk Diary by Andrews McMeel - Universe
5.0 out of 5 stars Well designed, 10 Feb 2014
Unlike the UK National Gallery diary this American diary has a picture to week, has a wide variety of styles and is spiral bound. In every way superior. The art selected is always interesting and not the cliched choices of the British version.

3.0 out of 5 stars Diary, 29 Jan 2013
Whilst the quality of the item is superb; the reproduction of pictures, the paper etc, the designers need to remember it is a Desk Diary and the purpose is to remain open on the desk for the week in hand to be checked and viewed. As half the pictures are on double page spreads they are not seen.
