National 5 English Practice Papers for SQA Exams by Craig Aitchison

As an English teacher myself, I'm impressed with these practice papers, which do a great job of mirroring the structure of the new National 5 English exam. The answers and tips at the back are extremely useful. I'm sure any N5 student will find this to be a great resource. Affordable and covers all the set writers for the Scottish Text component, too. Well done, Leckie and Leckie!

I'm an English teacher and I can honestly say that this and the "How to Pass" book are the best resources available at the moment. Where this has a slight edge over "How to Pass" is that it offers good advice for the internally assessed units as well as the actual course assessment (examination). It also covers a few more of the set authors.

Far superior to much of the National 5 English stuff out there. And, given that it's written by a very experienced member of the SQA examining team, it's actually reliable. Gives a really clear insight as to how marks can be gained in the examination. Could do with a bit more on the Scottish Texts section though, as it only covers two of the specified authors. Otherwise, really good.
