With the faux Afrobeat, and the distinct scent of the Upper East Side of New York coming off this album, Vampire Weekend would be the perfect band to open for Paul Simon (particularly if he was playing a lot of selections from his Graceland era.)
Not that there's anything bad about that. To be honest, that's right in my comfort zone. And most of the songs are moderately catchy. If you want to live out that I'm-from-old-money-Manhattan, the American-speaking-with-a-vague-but-genuine-English-styke-accent vibe, this is the CD for you.
