22 Bullets [DVD] DVD ~ Jean Reno
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
22 Bullets stands in the great French tradition of gangster films.Whilst is does not stand comparison with classics like La Balance or Leon nonetheless it contains the same quiet menace (or even boredom of a man on the run) exploding into very vicious violence.

Casting is superb and the cinematography amazing. If you're a fan of the likes of the French Connection then learn to love subtitles and indulge yourself

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
i know that doubts have been raised regarding the authenticity of this account. However if even a small part is authentic then it has been a truly remarkable life. possibly the most remarkable thing is that the subject has changed so much following his escape. the ruthlessness he showed during his life in camp during his life in camp and escape has been replaced by regret and even guilt for his actions. a true example of the triumph of the human spirit under even the greatest oppression

Peter Ackroyd does a splendid job of retaining the original story whilst rendering it palatable to the modern taste. I'm puzzled by those who think this a boring story. It is one of those timeless… Read more
