Sennheiser CX 300 II Ear-Canal Phones with Bass-Dr&hellip by Sennheiser
I've just married these 'phones to my Kindle Fire on which Amazon kindly loads copies of my CD purchases. I have to say they are wonderfully effective - truly delivering the bass sounds that cheaper 'phones cannot handle. My music preferences include much big band jazz and small combos - with both the double or electric bass parts/solos as clear as a bell. Recommended.

Please see my review of the companion set "Seven Classic Albums" by Cannonball. I believe these 15 LP re-creations to contain the very best alto sax bop solos of the '55 - '62 era. If there is a weak spot it is that these 'Real Gone Jazz' sets have little in the way of liner notes (save the personnel/recording dates). But this can be more than adequately compensated for by purchasing the very recent Cannonball Adderley paperback biography "Walk Tall" by Cary Ginell (available from Amazon).

As a writer of articles on jazz saxophonists for a specialized UK music magazine I purchased this set (along with its companion ""Eight Classic Albums by Cannonball") in order to have comprehensive auditional material to match the recent Adderley biography "Walk Tall" by Cary Ginell (also available from Amazon - and a superb read!). With the possible exception of Stan Getz I cannot think of a saxophonist operating in the "bop" era capable of such original and melodic improvisation regardless of core material and tempo. An outstanding collection of 15 LP's re-issued in CD format covering the period 1957 - 62. Un-believable value, strongly recommended.
