The book is ideal for undergraduate architecture and interior design students, especially the first years that are new into the profession. Its layout is clear, with plenty of high quality images highlighting the materials in context. In addition to writing about the properties of the material, Farrelly explains its origins enabling students to understand the background and context in which it can be applied; an important element of architectural design. This book is also ideal to have in your library should you need to refresh your memory on the different types of materials available - the materials palette at the back of the book is perfect for this.
