The big problem with this book is that it times all dishes againist a medium setting and does not give specific timings but general timings that are very misleading. As a new user of the slow cooking system I was in doubt as to whether or not I should rely on needing 7 hours or 4 hours as 4-8 hours is no precise number. My first attempt was therefore not wonderful because the meat was dry and not tender. This was due to over cooking at the 8 hours instead of using 4 hours and trying a piece of meat to see if it was correctly cooked. I will not maker this mistake again.
