My Granny Writes Erotica (The Original Quickie) by Rosen Trevithick

Having never read Fifty Shades and never wanting to this shouldn't appeal to me, however I always enjoy Rosen's comedy writing. Again she writes another believable tale of a character facing an awkward time in their life and forced to act in a manner unlike their usual self. The book is very funny with some great characters. I actually think it could have gone on for longer but was a good fun, quick read that both men and women can enjoy. If you like a laugh, give it a try.

I read this book fairly quickly and once again I really enjoyed Rosen's work. It was a great character piece with the main character, Emma suffering from an ongoing illness (I won't say too much in order not to spoil the story). Emma is thrown into a world she is unfamiliar with once she becomes pregnant and this affects her illness. The illness in question is dealt with in a very informative and serious manner but is also integral to the story. The feeling of paranoia is around every corner with the reader never knowing up to the end whether Emma is paranoid or whether there is truth to her feelings. A really good read, well worth the price. I will keep a look out for more of Rosen's work… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Pom Pom Berry Good!, 12 Dec 2012
This is a fun little story about a group of writers that converge to write a book but it all ends up in murder and some very strange scenarios. I really enjoyed this, it had a fun, quirky sense of humour to it and made me laugh enough to pass the comedy test. The story kept me guessing as to where it would finally end up and despite the characters being purposely annoying I actually thought they were a fun bunch of misfits. Rosen always provides a good read and I would really recommend this.
