Anne Frank Remembered [Region 0, NTSC] [DVD] DVD ~ Jon Blair
5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely gripping, 20 Oct 2012
This is a must see film. It is a story of huge courage, fear, betrayal and death. Miep Gies, the Dutch Civilian showed huge courage and deserves an award for what she did for the Franks and the piece of film where she meets the son of the dentist that she helped is deeply moving. Anne Frank was probably a perfectly normal naught adolescent thrown into greatness by her all too tragic situation. After the betrayal of the people in the annex, the story of their transit across Europe highlights the madness of the holocaust. It is a tragic film but should be watched by everyone as it is really an education in the terror of the marginalisation and murder of the jews of Europe.
Rinkagate: The Rise and Fall of Jeremy Thorpe by Simon Freeman

This story of Jeremy Thorpe is fascinating. It is a tale of a politician who could have been great but was let down by his personal relationships and his need or desire to keep these under wraps. If Thorpe was bisexual he lived in an age where such desires were frowned upon and where it was virtually impossible in public life. The Liberal party did not handle the situation well. The end of Thorpe's political career is told well but it is clear that Thorpe was a disappointed man.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 20 Oct 2012
I bought this book hoping that it would increase my knowledge. In actual fact I found the book very disappointing. It is a series of bullet points rather than a coherent narrative. I am afraid I would not recommend this book
