The Reivers And The Making Of The Borders - Series&hellip DVD ~ Alistair Moffat
1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing there., 9 Sep 2013
Not history, or even particularly about he Reivers.

This is more of a tourist board production dealing with the Scottish Borders. Much is filling - a man who renovated a peel tower, some border rugby players, people who were in border Regiments.

If you know anything about this period of history at all you'll learn nothing new here.

The videos aren't great but that's late '80s indie for you. The tour footage isn't excellent either, but… Read more

Fogle can't write - its that simple. I'm surprised that some of this got past the editor. His descriptive writing is woolly, to say the least. It smacks of having to reach a word count, or of him having been told to be more descriptive - "Two fans hung down, spinning slowly like tired geriatrics". What? "Thankfully I had never been in a courtroom as either a defendant, a witness or an observer." Why thankful that he had never been an observer?
The painful… Read more
