A frank, moving and very personal account in candid poetry of real and disperate conflicts experienced personally by the author in Ireland, Bosnia and the Gulf. Talently written by a young retired British army officer and drawn from his own personal experiences of close conflict. Jeffcock's poetry expresses with keen observation, incite and emotional honesty his own tours of duties so evoking the power of the lost generation of poets from the Great War of 1914-1918. A modern Siegfried Sassoon who has survived to tell a real and harrowing human account of current warfare usually concealed from today's reader.
