Wandrwoman

"Wise as Aphrodite, Beautiful as Athena..."
Wandrwoman lives and works in New York City with a husband, two cats, and a dog. She takes her reviewing seriously although she does like to have a bit of fun along the way. Unlike Wonder Woman, Wandrwoman is not a brunette.

In My Own Words:
Sometimes a rose is just a rose and sometimes it's a parody.

I am serious about the product reviews I write. They express my opinions, which are subjective and are not meant to be mean spirited or destructive in any way. The fundamental intention is to be helpful....and sometimes have a little fun along the way.

Certain products sold on Amazon lend themselves to parody. Writing a humorous, satir… Read more

The Cook's Illustrated Cookbook: 2000 Recipes from&hellip by Cook's Illustrated Magazine
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful
In the US, "Cook's Illustrated" magazine is to serious home chefs as Sports Illustrated is to sports enthusiasts or Scientific American is to science geeks. Professional chefs like "Cook's Illustrated" too because it is serious and authoritative about its subject. Every recipe is tested relentlessly by America's Test Kitchen (the home of Cook's Illustrated) before it is published. The recipes work.

The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
What was it like to be the first wife of Ernest Hemingway? To have married the man, still in his early 20's, not for his greatness but for the possibility of a wonderful and fulfilled life together? What was it like to be Hadley Richardson, Ernest Hemingway's starter wife? The author, Paula McLain tells us her side of the story. And quite a compelling story it is!

Although this is described as a work of "historical fiction", McLain stays faithful to the abundant supply of documented facts gleaned from a wealth of correspondence, manuscripts, and published materials either written by or about Hemingway and his circle. The author takes what is real and embellishes it with a… Read more
Logitech Squeezebox Radio - Black by Logitech

This Squeezebox Radio is the "Jumbo Shrimp" of Internet radios. It does just about anything and everything you would want in a small and stylish package. I received it several days ago and I am constantly playing with it, turning it on, surfing audio services, surfing radio stations, listening to my iTunes library, carrying it from room to room as if it were a favorite child.
So many options, so little time in a day!

Pros:
1) It is affordable, especially on Amazon
2) It is a perfect size for a kitchen counter or bed side table: 5.1" x 8.7" x 5" deep, approx.
3) It connects to the Internet with Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable, whichever you prefer. One could easily use… Read more
