Whilst Winston Rodney has released an undoubtably classic stream of albums in his career including farover, social living and marcus garvey to name a few- for me this is his best work, worth it just for the bass work of Aston family man Barrett alone not to mention the dynamic and top notch musicianship of the wailers band, hail h.i.m. represents some of the most interesting and culturally enlightening works in the reggae genre....eloquent lyrics, genuine heartfelt sentiment and quality production make this one of my alltime favourite releases.......basically its an eduaction in rastafarianism and has just some of the best melodies and riddims i have heard in many years as a roots reggae fan,… Read more

Gibbons was and probably still is a wicked singer with a very distinctive and original style, caught in his 15 minutes of fame here he is singing on some of lloyd 'king jammy' james' classic early digital riddims the hits from four season lover, samfie girl to why are you going away are consistently good ans this was a killer album in its day often being played back to back in the dances of that period , the bonus tracks arent his best but the original album is a killer, chuck turner, frankie paul , trevor sparks and a host of better known artists such as johnny osbourne, cocoa tea all released classic tunes in this period whilst at the jammys stable.....but this takes osme bettering, well… Read more

I actually FORGOT that i once owned a copy of this great album about ten years ago, i recently bought a used copy and suddenly!!!! it all came flooding back.

Gruff Rhys (as you no doubt already know) continues to write some of the most melodic, wigged out, interesting errr.... psychedelia of modern times, this album is yet another SFA classic with , alongside phantom power it gets regularly hammered, especially good in the moments before nodding off....BUY IT.
