4.0 out of 5 stars Good Size and Quality, 20 Nov 2013
For the money paid I was really happy with this cake stand. It's well made and a really good size. It comes well packaged and there wasn't the slightest dent or damage to the case. My only criticism is that the glass dome sits on top of the plate and there is no lip or groove to stop i sliding, a minor detail in an otherwise flawless transaction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning, 19 April 2006
Impeccable intonation, beautiful instrumentation and orchestration. The whole album is a masterclass of slickness and beautiful music. Alison's voice is on top form and each of these songs is treated with the reverence they deserve. It will not be to a lot of peoples taste due to the relaxed nature of the tracks (some "plaebians" may even call it boring)

With a good mix of standards and modern classics, this would be a welcome addition to any music lovers collection. The music and voice simply wash over you and leave you feeling completely at one with the world. Beautiful....

4.0 out of 5 stars Darren Goes Retro, 19 April 2006
Unfairly compared to his earlier solo effort "Spin", "The Tension & The Spark" sees Darren move in a completely different musical direction, whilst remaining true to his songwriting capablilities. This album has a very retro feel to it with a heavy focus on synth style pop. The lyrics, as you would expect, are very strong and poignant in most cases. His ability to evoke responses remains undiminished and indeed some of his most thought provoking music to date is on this album.

Where Darren will go after this is anyone's guess, he seems to have come full circle. All one can ask is that he continues to produce songs of the standard he has thus far.
