Four superb live tracks from the playing of Robbie Basho recorded at a Methodist Church in Chicago 1982, these are "classic" Basho tunes, The Grail and the Lotus, Cathedrals Et Fleur De Lis, Pavan India and Claire De Lune, the recording is pristine with Basho playing at his best, it also highlights how complex some of his compositions were and how unique they are.
Very slowly, live recordings of Basho and rereleases of his past albums are seeing the light of day, he was and still is way ahead of what anybody else is doing. Most of his life he struggled to make a living from his music and died way too young (only 46).

A good introduction to the very enigmatic John Fahey, a true pioneer in the sense of the word he paved the way for a complete new style of guitar playing in America, often called "American Primitive" it was not flashy or required great technical technique but was more focused on what a person with a guitar in their hands and their imagination could create.
John Fahey had his own vision of what he wanted to do and this would sometimes lead to a very erratic life, he also had the foresight to see and encourage other guitar players from the genius of Leo Kottke to the more esoteric playing of Robbie Basho.

Three great songs in country/folk ? vein, good harmony by two sisters, acoustic and electric guitar recorded live in the studio. Great sound, alive and fresh. Would buy the full album/cd if this free download is an indication of what to expect.
