Just plug and go. It is that simple. I needed something to hold a mirror back-up of my computer while re-loading Windows, and this, with its 1 TB capacity was the ideal solution. It comes well-packed and all you have to do is plug it into a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port and it's software loads automatically.. Creating the mirror back up was then a simple matter of following Windows' own instructions. The parcel was well-packed in a standard Amazon mailer, and the Seagate looks and feels well-made.
