Firstly, I imagine you will stumble upon this book as a Jean Seberg fan, rather than having a major interest in American history, so I would thoroughly recommend reading Garry McGee's biography of Jean first (Breathless.....5 stars.....the best bio I have ever read!).
It's such a shame that so many documents were destroyed from Jean's FBI file and ones that were left had most of the informants names deleted but it will keep the mystery of how she died/who killed her going forever.
Although we don't learn too much more (subsequent to reading Breathless), this book is still a fine accompaniment and I would thoroughly recommend all Jean Seberg fans to buy it.

anyone interested in movies, hollywood, how lives are ruined MUST read this.
So much time and effort has been put into this book by the author, it is such a sad story, one that supplies you with all the evidence
and leaves it to the reader to decide why Jean's life was so sadly cut short at 40.
A magnificent book about a truly enigmatic actress.

I have seen 5 Romy Schneider fims recently (all 1970s collaborations with director Claude Sautet), where she came over on screen
as beautiful, enigmatic and a fine actress too.
These photos don't really capture that. I'm sure edel Classics GmbH could have found better.
However, the fact that 2 CD's are included, you have over 1 hour worth of music from her film soundtracks (some of which I have seen) lifts this production from 2 to 3 stars.
