Fundamentals of Patent Drafting by Paul Cole

This book contains very little in the way of concrete drafting instruction. Most of it is taken up with legal background (novelty, inventive step, claim construction etc) or with papers simply regurgitated verbatim from yester-decade, e.g. Micklethwaite from 1946 - perhaps not surprising from a profession firmly stuck in the past. Overall this is a dismal effort and it's not surprising that respectable publishers seem to have shunned it, leaving CIPA to inflict it on unsuspected buyers. Roberts is a better effort.

This is a great book, I bought it a couple of years ago and still enjoy the wonderful old photos. Malvern in the 19th century was even more beautiful than it is now. It would be great to have a time machine and go back, but this book will have to do. Well worth the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap rubbish - AVOID, 24 Nov 2012
Whoever designed this needs their head examined. There are two ways to open the desk part, one destroys the desk part completely, and the other is so obscure that, even carefully following the instructions, it is virtually impossible to carry out. I would say this product is not fit for purpose. Save your 15 and put it towards something of higher quality - this is nothing but scrap metal.
