When the Bough Breaks: A Mother's Story by Julia Hollander
5.0 out of 5 stars Heart-rending story, 29 Jan 2014
I found the book to be extremely moving and honest. Extreme disability is one of those areas that people shy away from and the myth that you will never be given a burden heavier than you can bear or that love will conquer all can be an extra burden that society gives to carers of all sorts. I thought that Julia Hollander is a very brave woman to admit to all her complex feelings and how they as a family simply couldn't cope. I am glad that they have been able to maintain a good relationship with the foster mother and not cut their disabled daughter completely out of their lives. Dexter - Season 7 [DVD] DVD ~ Michael C. Hall
I want to be careful what I say in order to avoid plot spoilers for those planning to watch this. Dexter is becoming more reflective and more "human" but it is messing up Harry's code, his plan for survival. The trouble is that Dexter has grown and changed and wants more than mere survival. It is another exciting season for Dexter fans. I have seen that Season 8 will be the final season and I think that's probably the right call. It will be interesting to see how the loose ends of this season are tied up. I can't wait!
