5.0 out of 5 stars Gladly surprised, 19 April 2007
"Jane Eyre" of Charlotte Bronte has been one of my favourite books ever since I was eighteen (quite a long time ago...) so, I didn't think I was going to find any adaptation of this great book that really could satisfy me. It is really difficult when you have a portrayal of a character for many years in your imagination to accept anyone given by others. Imagination is so powerful!

That is why I was gladly surprised by this series. It really made me believe that Ruth Wilson and Toby Stevens were Jane and Mr Rochester. I found the performance of both remarkable but I loved particularly this Mr Rochester so rich in shades. Dark, passionate and yet lively and tender as well and… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, 17 April 2007
This was the first Trollope's novel that I had ever read and since then or maybe because of it I became a faithful fan of Mr Trollope. I have read all the series of Barset. 5.0 out of 5 stars Unforgettable!!!!!, 17 April 2007
I really have to be thankful to Amazon in particular and to all of you, reviewers in general, because I would have missed this unforgettable BBC series but for you. I hadn't known of this series at all because it wasn't showed in Spanish television. (Shame on us). So, the first time I heard of it was in these pages... Thank you!

I am not going to repeat any of the very well merited praises all of you have written about this series, I couldn't agree more with all of you. The series is perfect in my opinion. Even after reading the book you cannot find fault with it. The atmosphere, the characters (all of them), the rhythm. All beautifully done.

Maybe trying hard to find… Read more
