Locke bothers me. It has a central idea thrown into a tight space and then trys to extract as much detail from that concept as possible. It is the sort of notion that you have to buy into from the start or you may find yourself picking away at it. Despite Tom Hardy's finest effort and some original touches within the way it is shot, Locke comes across as too experimental to really fit into the category of a real life drama with hard hitting tragedy. When the themes and events outside subside, knowing Ivan Locke can only really do anything about these events from outside his automobile confines, means the film has to overcompensate.
