This is a great CD. The Parlotones combines great lyrics with catchy melodies to take you away from yourself. I saw them in Cape Town in 2011, where they opened for Coldplay. They are great on stage and probably the one of the two best bands from South Africa at present.

The beauty and simplicity of Leunig's drawings make the truths in it so much more striking. This is just a stunning little collection of his drawings and the notes in just great to reflect on.

Some said that Leonard Cohen only brought this album out to cover his financial set-backs from recent times. Not true. He is still the poet-singer that allow the gravel-growl of his soul to fly free. It is not only his ability to express the journey of modern man and the lost and found boxes we discover along the way. It is also his ability to laugh at himself and to wink at his adorning fans that makes this a very touching and human affair.

As someone who has spend time with all his CDs, this collection of songs bring something different even though it is unmistakably Cohen. It is scattered with existential reflections on time and age. On Going home he sings, "Going home without… Read more
