Another Lovely Advent Story, 8 Feb 2013

We have used Jotham's Journey and Tabatha's Travels in previous years as our Advent story but fancied a change this year. This one is every bit as good as the others. There are a few "scary" bits when our heros are in danger but it all ends up happy in the end at the stable as you know it's going to!

I bought the kindle version of this book and it's fine, I know some children's books are a bit lacking on an ordinary kindle (not a Fire) but with all the illustrations being line drawings this was not an issue.

This is a facinating book, reflecting the attitudes and values of its time and providing useful instruction in some of the arts and crafts that any lady of the time should be accomplished at. It amused me that knitting instruction is given as something that us ladies can do once our eyesight fails too much for the more delicate arts....

However, I had downloaded this for the point-lace element and here is where it all goes wrong. You see, you *really* need the pictures for the point lace as the pictures are what you copy out to make your patterns, the instructions are useless without them. The pictures are not there. Sad really as it would have been a 5 star book if they were!

I've never encountered shaped TENS pads before but have to say I am impressed. They fit round the curve of my knee joint far better than straight pads do hence stay in place far better and deliver current evenly round the joint. Would definitely buy again.
