Three days in June by James O'Connell
Three days in June by James O'Connell
A compelling compilation of eyewitness accounts which does justice to the soldiers from both sides. Anyone with an interest relating to infantry operations should read this compelling account – which is at times both shocking and extremely moving. This is a book without frills, instead straightforward and to the point in a way that leaves the reader able to fully appreciate the full devastation of a very old-fashioned battle. An excellent book which will doubtless be relied upon as a historical source for the South Atlantic campaign.

2.0 out of 5 stars Flashpoint in reverse, 11 Jun 2011
This was a great disapointment, particularly when I consider the quality of previous Flashpoint games. None of the atmosphere or complexity of previous Flashpoint editions, just some coarse language, poor graphics and lame AI.
The Crusades: The War for the Holy Land by Thomas Asbridge

Having massively enjoyed the author's original work on the First Crusade, I must admit that I ordered this book well in advance. I was not disappointed. It was well worth the wait and the positive reviews recorded here do Asbridge great justice.

The book frequently left me caught up in a compelling narrative, that was enriched by various and fabulously depicted legends. Don't read this book on the Underground, you will miss your stop.

Fabulous book - Asbridge - whats next?
