Bought this book because it sounded like such a good idea for a story. What a disapointment I. do not like to give up on a book but I cannot stand to put myself through anymore of this rubbish. I admit I am not a womans woman so a woman as the main character needs to be smart and likable ,Stella is neither. She comes across as a man hating silly mare who blames her detective father for everything aided and abeted by her mother. What sort of a daft bint goes down to the banks of the Thames in the dead of night in a snowy January carrying a keyring torch and looking for clues to a murder that happened thirty years ago. What? BEEN WAITING TO GET THIS FOR SOME TIME AS A LOVER OF ALL THINGS WW2 AND ALSO AS A VISITOR AND LOVER OF GUERNSEY. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SEEN A BIT MORE OF THE ORDINARY ISLANDERS. THE CAST ARE BRILLIANT ESPECIALY ALFRED BURKE. SHAME THEY DID NOT CONTINUE TILL LIBERATION
