I bought this CD not knowing what to expect. The performers were unfamiliar to me, but it is the current Gramophone recommendation so I had high hopes. I was not disappointed. This performance from Guglielmo is authentic with suitable numbers and temperament (Vallotti) used, but it lacks nothing in spirit and energy. I have never heard such a range of colour in this music from the supplication to the king in the water music to the joyous bombast of the Music for the Royal Fireworks. I love the cover art and iTunes thankfully recognises this CD, despite the fact that I couldn't find it on the iTunes store itself. For a price like this, DEFINITELY worth it.
