I was very interested in Henry Ford's contribution to this volume and his argument that a Jew is always a Jew.
Ford asserts that just as an Irishman, who becomes indifferent to the Church is still an Irishman, so then likewise a Jew, who becomes indifferent to the Synagogue, is still a Jew. This does not make sense to me.
Does Ford mean a Catholic Irishman or a Protestant one? If a Catholic converts to Protestantism, is he still Irish? Surely even an atheist Irishman is still an Irishman. His nationality is not based on his religious beliefs.
