I have never herd of this guy before, even though he is a newspaper travel righter, (I do not read newspapers, so no surprise there),

This is a 2 Trip story book, the first half I liked his Ride from India to Belfast, (a City I have lived in for a number of years), With some other guy who he sort of knew, I like the way how he blaggs time off work to do this trip, this I found entertaining, his style of righting suites the book, he doesn't get bogged down with too much detail but more about the ride it self & the view & people he met en-route the bikes the dust wet dirt all made it for me a an adventure rider my self.

I have met Simon & heard his talk which I found entertaining.

Unfortunately I did not the book, so much so I gave up a quarter of the way through, (i might just try to finish it as a matter of principle), It starts of ok but then with his own meanderings & thinking of various subjects he go off on to politics in various nations & how people perceive other nations, he also questions the reader to consider certain subjects, ( not a bad thing in it's self), I found it go far to heavy & unfortunately stopped reading it.
