This is a book written when the author was just starting out . I enjoy reading his later writings and contrary to what others have said about this , I enjoyed it too. It reminded me of the "Saint" books by Leslie Charteris in which the Saint has an air of whimsicallity about him. Also other books even the James Bond books are similar . All in all I enjoyed it and as the author says try and enjoy it for what it is. After all this is not Roy Grace .

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a book about a priest living in a small Scottish town who hears something in the confessional that gets him worried and leads him into trouble along the way to finding out what it is all about . There is humour here and some dark moments . The author knows her stuff and it is a well written interesting ,and engrossing book. As a Catholic myself I was pleased that it turns out that, as I know ,not all priests are corrupt . Others have gone into the plot so I will just say I enjoyed it and recommend it. If only the story was set in England , but I suppose it makes no difference, and maybe I will read more from this author .

This is a book full of action with the main character a somewhat reluctant hero who manages to get the better of the bad guys with a bit of luck and plenty of guts .The story centres on a terrorist / hostage situation in a London hotel where Scope just happens to be carrying out a "job" for himself. I recommend this book and won't go into the story any further as that would spoil it .
