Cable Matters Hi-Speed USB 2.0 to RJ45 Gigabit Eth&hellip by Cable Matters

So why did I ask for the USB2 version, you're probably wondering. Well, the USB2 and 3 versions of this adapter use different chipsets. The USB2 version is well supported under both Linux and BSD, whereas the USB3 version's chipset does not appear to be supported at all.

Sadly, this mean the unit was useless for my purposes.

Whilst this device looks good on paper, and it's certainly a very competitive price, I was unable to persuade it to work with either Linux or FreeBSD, which sadly meant it was useless for my purposes.
Corsair 30GB Nova Series 2 Solid State Drive by Corsair
This is a good SSD. Performance is as expected and installation was easy.

Having said that, given the price for the 60 or 64GB versions is very similar (within 5 in many cases), I fear the days of 30GB SSDs are numbered, at least at this price point. There's just no point in not going for the bigger capacity.
